I am a tenured professor in the Division of Biomedical Informatics (Department of Internal Medicine) at the University of Kentucky working primiarliy in natural language processing, machine learning, data mining, and broadly in informatics and data science for biomedicine and healthcare. I also hold a courtesy appointment in the Computer Science Department. Earlier, I was a postdoctoral research scientist at
Wright State University where I worked on biomedical search/discovery systems. I graduated with a Ph.D in CS from UKY with a dissertation on the analysis of sequence security measures for stream ciphers.
I obtained an M.S in CS from WKU and a B.Tech in CS from JNTU (India).
