Title: The Network Processing Revolution Speaker: Dr. Todd Anderson, Intel Communications Architecture Lab Abstract: This presentation will provide an introduction to the topic of network processors and will motivate their use in the construction of network equipment. This motivation will illustrate that the software infrastructure surrounding the network processor is the key to their widespread adoption. As such, two ongoing industry efforts in the NPF (Network Processor Forum) and IETF (ForCES Working Group) will be described. Finally, as the presentation progresses, relevant past research will be outlined and areas of potential future research highlighted.
