Welcome to my home page. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Kentucky. I received my Ph.D. degree from the Computer Science Department at Brown University under Professor Stan Zdonik.

My research interests are in databases and systems, including:

  • database security and privacy
  • uncertain data management
  • sensor networks
  • parallel and distributed systems

In Spring 2010, I am teaching CS685 (Section 2) - Special Topics in CS: Advanced Data Management. This course will introduce state-of-the-art topics in data management research. The specific topics that we are examining in this semester are (1) managing uncertain data, (2) data privacy, and (3) the interconnection between (1) and (2), i.e., between data uncertainty and privacy. These are important topics that have drawn much attention lately due to their wide range of applications, such as sensor networks, medical data, data on the Internet, and scientific data, to name but a few.
